Things We Must Do |
Ata is rapidly developing a list of Things We Must Do when we go overseas next year.
It gets added to in this way:
"Oh, you MUST visit our friend in Germany!" Yes, says Ata, we would love to visit your friend in Germany.
"Oh, you MUST visit this Important Ancestral Location!" Yes, says Ata, who expects to receive a fairly comprehensive list of Important Ancestral Locations to accompany the family tree that was a wedding gift from a second cousin with an interest in family history.
"Oh, we have called our friend in Finland and told them you are going, and they would LOVE to have you stay, so you MUST visit!" Yes, says Ata, of course we would love to visit.
Ata is beginning to feel that in 10 months time she will have such a long list of People and Place that We Must Visit, we just might barely fit them all in over the five-to-ten years we plan to be gone. |

It's very weird to me that places like Finland and Germany are considered close enough to the vicinity of Britain (which is, I assume, still where you're moving to?) for people to think you able to just hop over and visit them while you're 'in the area'. Heh. Sometimes I forget how far away Aus is.
I have never been to Germany or Finland. In fact, the only European countries I have visited are France and Holland... and Tenerife, if that counts. Strange, the way perspectives of the world differ depending on your general location.
